Groovepede is a local-first progressive web app (PWA) for queuing albums from any streaming service. It has no backend server, no database, and no user accounts. All data stays on your device. Spotify is an optional connected service for users who want to sync their queue to a Spotify playlist.
We collect no personal data. Groovepede stores the following only in your browser's localStorage:
This data never leaves your device. Clearing your browser storage or uninstalling the app removes it entirely.
When you paste an album link, Groovepede sends the URL to the Odesli / Songlink API to resolve cross-service links (e.g. turn a Spotify link into equivalent Apple Music and YouTube Music links). Odesli receives only the album URL — no personal identifiers. See Odesli's privacy policy for details.
Connecting Spotify is entirely optional. If you choose to connect, Groovepede uses the Spotify Web API with the user-read-private and playlist-modify-private scopes. This lets us display your name and profile picture, and sync your album queue to a private Spotify playlist. We never read your listening history, saved albums, or any other Spotify data.
Authentication uses the PKCE flow — no client secret is stored or transmitted.
Groovepede calls the Last.fm API anonymously (no user account required) to fetch genre tags, artist bios, and similar artist suggestions. These requests include only artist and album names — no personal identifiers.
Groovepede does not use Google Analytics or any tracking cookies. If privacy-friendly analytics (e.g. Plausible or Umami) are added in future, this policy will be updated to disclose what events are collected.
Explore mode includes links to Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube, and Last.fm artist pages. Clicking those links takes you to those services, which have their own privacy policies.
Groovepede is not directed at children under 13. If you are under 13, please do not use this app.
If this policy changes in a material way, we'll update the date at the top. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance.
