Frequently asked questions

Which services work?

Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube Music, Tidal, Deezer, Amazon Music, Pandora, and SoundCloud. Paste any album link and Groovepede resolves cross-service links automatically via Odesli.

Is it free?

Yes, completely. No subscription, no ads, no upsell.

Do I need to log in?

No. Groovepede works without any account. Connecting Spotify is optional — it lets you sync your queue to a private Spotify playlist so it’s backed up and accessible across devices.

What does the Done button do?

It marks the album as listened: the card leaves your queue and your listened count goes up. There’s no undo — if you tap it by mistake, paste the link again to put the album back.

Why does Listen open a different service?

Not every album exists on every service. When an album isn’t on your preferred one, the button names the service it will open instead — it never switches silently. You can change your preferred service under “Listen on” in your profile.

Can I back up or move my queue?

Yes. Profile → Export queue downloads a JSON file containing every album, and Import queue loads it back on any device (it replaces that device’s queue). Connecting Spotify additionally mirrors your queue into a private playlist.

Does it work offline?

Your queue does — it’s stored on your device and the app is a PWA, so it opens and browses offline. Adding a new album needs a connection to look the link up; add one while offline and the link is saved, then resolves by itself once you’re back.

Where is my queue stored?

Entirely in your browser’s localStorage. Nothing leaves your device. You can export a backup JSON from the profile at any time.

Does it work on mobile?

Yes. Add it to your home screen (Safari on iOS or Chrome on Android) for a native-like experience. Android supports sharing albums directly from your music app; on iPhone you can paste links or use the share sheet.
